C.R.E.A.M. KLP Ep 1 lyrics

Verse 1

This is the Kyle Lowry podcast and this is Kyle Lowry

I started this podcast for one reason and that is to get better and not

sane No of course it's not I

started this podcast because I

am a man who likes to talk and I

needed another outlet For those see there's another one A lot of my sanity and help in life

comes from being able to express myself share my thoughts and be heard and understood

So with all of that being said thank you so much for tuning in today and giving

me just maybe I don't know 12 15 minutes of your time

to get some things off my chest So I'm gonna talk about three

sections of the Bible today For those who may not be practicing the Christian

faith or maybe don't know anything about the Bible this is still for you

So I wanted to share just three sections of scripture I've been thinking

about this morning It's not every morning that I

wake up and there's this much Bible on my mind but today is

one of those days

Verse 2

So I've constantly been thinking about the idea of minimalism the ability to be

excited and fulfilled by the simple things Our world is so good at convincing

us that we do not need a simple life We need a life with every

new product conceivable to man We need the latest Tesla

the latest iPhone the latest this and that And this is no new

thing This has been going on forever So it's not like we're unique or special in this but people

have always sought after more It's insatiable

The eyes of man the desire in the heart of man and women

to gain more and to not be content with what has already been

given It's unbelievable You see it in children you see it in adults

My parents always tell me Kyle the grass is not greener

And that's some of the best wisdom I've taken to heart But I

also see it just played out in the Bible quite a bit

We've all heard the Bible verse Most of us have love of money

is the root of all evil It's important to note that it's the love of money the worship of money

allowing money to be the master of your heart That is the root of all

Verse 3

evil Otherwise money is a great thing when it's in its correct place

when it's in its correct position when it is a tool for good

It is a temporary means to accomplish

eternal goals or purposes Think of it that way You know

money when it is subjected to worship

and you basically elevate it where every waking hour of your day is

consumed with the desire for money that's a problem that's problematic

Jesus said that you can only have one master You can only serve

one master Because if you're serving this master then you're not serving the other

master And so kind of a modern way to think about that that's

kind of like easy or simple you know You can only play for one

team and you can only listen to one coach I

mean think about like if the Golden State Warriors were playing the Los

Angeles Lakers in basketball and you come out on the court and you're

wearing purple and gold and you know Phil Jackson is your coach

and you're out there and you're listening to his playbook and you're going

Verse 4

as hard as you can on the court and you're listening to his direction

you're following the plays that would be following that master

right You're playing for the team of the Lakers and you have a goal for the Lakers to win and you

listen to them and the coach and all that You're not listening to Steve

Kerr at that moment There's no way He's actually in opposition to you

That's the enemy so to speak That's the guy you're trying to beat

him and all the Golden State Warriors I

know that's kind of a simplified version and don't come at me if

you're a sports fan and you're like hey did Phil Jackson and Steve

Kerr coach at the same time I

don't know Sue me I'm sorry But for the illustration this morning

Jesus always perfectly shared parables that were heavenly concepts with earthly illustrations and so this is an example of that in Matthew 6

Okay so I guess I'm going to four sections of scripture But read

Matthew 6 today when you get a moment and just understand that Jesus

is making it clear that your heart only has room for one throne

and there's only going to be one master or king or lord on that throne at any

Verse 5

given day If money if the dollars if that scrilla

the bread those Benjis them Franklins whatever you want to call it that green

that cheddar that guap there are so many different names for money It's so crazy

If that's the heartbeat of your life you're in a world of hurt

If you're chasing that paper to be your savior and your lord

then you are going to wake up money hungry every day

All of your stress all of your goals all of your worries

everything's going to be consumed by it and I'm sorry you can interview

people who are billionaires and even they some of them would say

man if I just had more money Because it's a crazy world and even

billionaires lose billions and there's stress involved with that there's problems that come

up with that So I'm not demonizing money I'm demonizing the position of money in your heart the power that money

has So all of that to say just the last few minutes here 1

Timothy 6 verse six to nine it says but godliness with contentment is

great gain For we brought nothing into the world and we cannot take

anything out of the world

Verse 6

But if we have food and clothing with these we will be content But those

who desire to be rich fall into temptation into a snare

into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction

Psalm chapter 23 verses one two and three The Lord is my shepherd I

shall not want He makes me lie down in green pastures

He leads me beside still waters He restores my soul

He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake And lastly I

wanted to read Proverbs I

believe it's seven eight and nine Two things oh of chapter 30

excuse me Two things I

ask of you Deny them not to me before I

die Remove far from me falsehood and lying and give me neither poverty

nor riches Feed me with the food that is needful for me lest I

be fool and deny you and say who is the Lord or lest I

be poor and steal and profane the name of God So I

just wanted to encourage you today read Psalm 23 read Matthew six

Verse 7

get into Proverbs 30 That whole chapter's flames First Timothy six

six to nine It's just it's beautiful scripture that really helps position money in its proper

place and it gives you a beautiful godly framework that we can live a very

healthy balanced simple life with a heavenly focus on the earth

And I have found for me personally when I

get caught up when I

get distracted when I get worked up and frustrated and I

start comparing myself to others whether it's financially or career all of that time that I

could've used to make progress in the things that I'm frustrated about it's so crazy

like I'm wasting time Like imagine if you're trying to lose like 30

pounds okay And instead of doing pushups and sit ups and calisthenics

what a fun word calisthenics

Instead of doing exercise and learning to make a few healthy meals

instead of taking a walk around the block let's say instead of that

you just looked at yourself in the mirror and you're like oh I'm

trying to lose 30 pounds I

Verse 8

don't like having 30 extra pounds on my body And then after you're

done berating yourself in the mirror you drive to your local gym

you walk into Planet Fitness and they're like hey do you want a membership

You're like no no no I'm just kind of checking things out And you

do a lap around the gym and you just compare yourself

You're looking at all the other people working out and you are just

getting down on yourself You're like oh man these people are so fit

Oh that guy over there is not really fit but he's like working at it like

man And you just spend like an hour walking around Planet Fitness like at some

exercise museum and you're looking at all these people doing what you should

be doing to make the progress you want to make

That's insanity That's absurdity But it's so easy for us to do with either

physical things or for that illustration money Money's a big one

We can easily go through our life and just bellyache about

oh I just don't know how to budget I

just don't know how to be disciplined Oh life is so expensive

Verse 9

Everything's so hard Why can't I

make more of my job These are challenges that maybe we've brought on ourselves or maybe it's just the price of poker

in the country that you live in But the bottom line is you

got to take personal responsibility and you've got to humbly accept the fact that I

am where I am today period end of story Okay where do I

want to go How am I

going to get there You're not going to get there by comparing yourself to others and getting

upset and wasting your time looking at other people exercising trying to lose

30 pounds When it comes to money and it comes to provision in your life

lean into these scriptures and let God reshape your heart and reshape your mind

when it comes to how you view money and how you view contentment in this world

Thank you so much for listening today This is the Kyle Lowry Podcast

And as always this is Kyle Lowry Money money money must be funny

in a rich man's world Okay I

couldn't resist Cash rules everything around me cream

That's too easy That bread that paper that squirrel that cream that cheddar

that guap
